Setting up microphones

Syncing the Mic pack to the rack.

To set up a Mic pack with a lapel Mic, you will first need to add batteries to the pack so that it works. When the pack has batteries it will turn on. When the pack turns on there is a little number this is the frequency of the pack which is how the rack will identify the pack. To Change this number on the rack you will have to press set on the rack and then use the up and down arrows to adjust the frequency to the same one on the mic pack. Alternatively to speed up this process you can press the sync button on both the rack and the mic pack which will automatically set the pack to the same frequency as the rack.

 Phantom power.

Phantom power is 48v of power that some microphones need to work, such as condenser mics which have lots of electrical components. Phantom power charges these components so that the mic can work. To add phantom power you would select the channel that has the Condenser mic on it, from here you would then go into the channels settings and select and hold phantom power, the desk that i am showing you on is a digital desk but on an analog desk it will have a button that you press to give out phantom power.

Phantom power is not active.
