MODULE C (Technical production)
How a show runs
In this section, I will talk about how a show runs from the rehearsals through to the show week.
Rehearsal notes
These are an example of rehearsal notes which are made so that everyone in the production team knows what's happening and when and specific teams know what is expected from them. These are made every day after rehearsals by the Deputy stage manager along side the Assistant stage manager.

Rehearsal and show calls
Rehearsal calls and show calls are really helpful because it tells the cast and crew when they need to be in as well as where they need to be and what is being done. These would mainly include rehearsals, Costume fittings, makeup face moulds and tech rehearsals. An example of a Call sheet can be seen on the left.

Cueing a show
During the show a DSM will call the show from something called a prompt copy, this document has all of the cues and necessary information while the show is running. The document below is an example of a prompt copy from a show. You can see that on the prompt copy there is notes on when specific cues should be called and who they are being called for.

Show reports
Show reports are made after each show. These are made by the Deputy stage manager and the Assistant stage manager. These are then sent out to the whole of the production team. An example of a show report can be seen on your left.
